Raglan sweater / Raglan-Pulli

J and I aren't the only ones in the family that got a Raglan shirt. R got a sweater, too. In fact her's was the very first one. I sewed it already way back in September, but just never really got to take pictures. The pattern is again from Ottobre (Totem Owl 1/2014), and the fabric is a fun apple design by Hamburger Liebe. I bougth it last year to make a sweater dress for R. Well that never happend. Then in fall R was in desperate need for some longsleeve shirts and sweaters and while looking at my stash, the apples just called me. I really like how it looks and it must be quite comfy as it is in constant rotation.

Tja daraus ist irgendwie nie was geworden.

The only thing that I don't like about the sweater is that the fabric faded already after some washes remarkably. It still looks good, but when compared to the original fabric (of which I still have quite a bit), it's quite obvious. I have had this and similar problems with several of the Hamburger Liebe fabrics in the last year and heared from several people that they had issues, too. As the fabrics aren't on the cheap side, that is quite annoying. However, I've read that they have changed their fabric supplier, so I hope that the quality will be better in the future. I mostly like the Hamburger Liebe designs, but if the quality isn't right, than it's not worth it...
Btw. I showed you the pants here already.

  1. Lovely sweater, on the picture it seems your neckline only has a single line of stitching, do you prefer using a stretch stitch over a double needle?

    1. Yes, I'm never lucky with the twin needle. I've had to many broken seams... So I rather use the triple straight stitch. It still looks nice and I've never had a broken seam!

  2. The color is amazing! I'm always scared by colorful prints but they look awesome on children!

  4. It is a great jumper Annika. The colour looks very vibrant, beautiful. When I dye fabric, usually put a bit of vinegar or salt when the machine is rinsing to fix the colour in the fabric...I'm not sure if that would work with printed fabrics too.

  7. Makes me want to get some brights in my girls wardrobe. I may be depriving them of colour.
